Ben Collins was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia last year, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, which is the most common type of leukaemia to affect children, though can also affect adults.
In an effort to find a suitable stem cell match, family and friends of Collins organised a swab day at a local rugby club.
Over 450 people had three swabs taken, which will be analysed for any matches for Collins, and added to the national register.
Anyone aged between 17 and 55 can also order an online kit from the blood cancer charity DKMS
